Togetherness

Doing photography is a bit like sitting on the balcony at the theater, waiting for the show to start.  It’s when things could start to get boring that the wait turns into the event itself.  The multitude, the mix of so various looking people of all ages.  How great it is to watch all these people involved in the same wait, the same excitement, the anticipation.

It all happened in the semi darkness of the hall, away from the stage.  I only had my phone when the impulse caught me.  I regretted afterwards not having brought something more robust to get these images, but in the end, I have come to like them.  It’s not about voyeurism – I mean, not about catching individuals involved in their moment, oblivious of the onlooker.  It’s not about technical feat either.  It’s about sharing with the mass of humans all together, all waiting in excitement for the same thing to happen.  The connection to the moment mostly happens away from the expectation.  The phone was perfect to achieve that.

I will add more soon from that moment.
